As it’s name suggests, body waxing involves spreading specially formulated wax thinly over the skin. In strip waxing, a cloth or paper strip is then pressed onto the soft wax and pulled off quickly against the natural direction of the hair. With hot wax, we wait for the wax to cool and then remove quickly and efficiently.

A Standard Bikini removes all hair that might be on show when wearing a swimsuit. An Extended Bikini takes this line a little bit further inwards and can remove more from the top of your bikini area if you’d like. This can vary depending on your speed of hair growth but on average it is between 4 - 6 weeks. If you are being waxed for the first time and have been shaving until now, around 2 - 3 weeks is best or to optimum length. We need the shortest hair to be 2.5mm in length.

Exfoliating or scrubbing the skin 2 - 3 times per week and moisturise daily is the easiest and best way to avoid ingrowing hairs. An area more prone to this is the bikini line so exfoliating more often in this area can be beneficial. Ask your therapist for more advice at your appointment if you would like a more personalised approach.
